For the first time in its 35-year history, the Gothenburg Book Fair will take place entirely online.
Beginning on Thursday, Scandinavia’s largest publishers trade fair will allow access, free of charge, to a streaming service Book Fair Play, where book lovers can watch a slimmed down programme of seminars, lectures and interviews with mainly Swedish authors over its four days.
Cancelling would have been an easy decision. I think we as a book fair have a responsibility to let the talks about literature and reading continue, no matter what is going on in the world,"
Frida Edman, director of Gothenburg Book Fair tells Radio Sweden.
