Second-hand stores have been amazed at the number of donations they’ve received recently. "We get so many gifts, it’s crazy" says Eva Bååth at Stockholm Stadsmission thrift.
She believes the influx of donations is related to people having spare time on their hands, which they use to clean out the house.
But while goods are streaming in, many stores have seen a drop in sales as customers shun city centres.
"Our warehouses are filling up with donations but visitors are down by half," says production manager Brian Kelly at Emmaus second-hand store in Stockholm.
"It’s a bit worrying."
